KENTUCKY-ARGONNE
FACILITIES
The University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research's new renewable laboratory (due for completion December, 2011) will house the lab facilities of the Kentucky-Argonne Battery Manufacturing R & D Center.

The building will contain an advanced research and development laboratory with a state-of-the-art prismatic (flat) cell assembly processing capability to evaluate new cathode, anode and electrolyte materials produced at universities, national laboratories, and industry.
Laboratories will include:
- Clean Room
- Dry Room
- Wet Labs
- Testing

Floorplan of future facilities
Kentucky-Argonne staff will co-ordinate with Argonne as it produces quantities of new battery materials and constructs 18650 Li-ion cells for evaluation by the Kentucky partner.
Researchers will develop and demonstrate new efficient, low cost, high precision cell assembly and processing and equipment for next generation battery cell production.
Administrative offices are located in the Spindletop building located in Lexington, Kentucky.
